Learn how the Race Pylon and Mega Tree can enhance your child's toy track play. This guide explains when to add each accessory and what to consider.
Quick answer
For a finish-line thrill, add the Race Pylon; for imaginative scenery and holiday decoration, choose the Mega Tree. Both expand play but serve different roles.
Why these accessories matter for track play
A plain track is fun, but adding accessories turns a simple race into a story. The Race Pylon gives a clear finish line, while the Mega Tree adds a nature-themed backdrop. Choosing between them depends on whether your child craves competitive racing or open-ended imaginative scenes.
Both are made from solid beech wood, so they hold up to daily use. Neither requires assembly or batteries, making them easy to integrate into existing play sets.
Trade-off: Purpose vs. versatility
The Race Pylon is purpose-built for racing. It works with any toy vehicle and creates a clear start/finish marker. Its limitation is that it only serves one play style: racing.
The Mega Tree is more versatile. It fits into Candylab and Americana vehicle play, but also doubles as holiday decor. If your child enjoys setting up scenes rather than just racing, the tree offers more long-term value.
How to decide: Race Pylon vs. Mega Tree
- Choose the Race Pylon if: Your child loves competitive racing and needs a clear finish line. It pairs with any toy vehicle and adds structure to races.
- Choose the Mega Tree if: Your child prefers imaginative play with scenery, or you want a toy that also decorates for holidays. It works best with Candylab and Americana vehicles.
- Consider buying both if: Your child enjoys both racing and setting up detailed scenes. The pylon marks the track, and the tree creates a backdrop for the finish area. Check that your track layout has room for both pieces without crowding the play area.
Product facts at a glance

Race Pylon - Mega Tree: Part of the Candylab Flora collection, also works as holiday decoration. It serves double duty as a play accessory and a seasonal decor piece, giving you more use for the price.
